For the launch of the new channel brand Sky Documentaries, MonkeyXR was commissioned to develop AR filters for two pilot projects. With the help of the filters, Sky lets fans immerse themselves in the world of their documentaries and connects offline with online campaign.
This documentary is about the team that tries to get Joe Exotic out of prison. MonkeyXR was asked to create Instagram filters that show the eccentric style of Joe.
We developed two filter concepts that show Joe's story. For the first concept, users transform into Joe Exotic with mullet and mustache. When they open their mouths, they are surprised from behind by a 3D tiger. The second concept consists of a game where fans can break out of prison.

Journalists publish excerpts of a secretly recorded video, thus triggering the Ibiza affair. Sky reconstructs the long road to the video's release in »The Ibiza Affair«. With the launch campaign a container is placed right in front of the chancellery in Vienna, showing a replica of the rooms of the villa in Ibiza where the affair began.
The filter we implemented for the event focuses entirely on the container. If a spectator is standing in front of the container, a video of the key scene on the container wall can be viewed with the smartphone.
The filter can also be applied to the out-of-home campaign. The trailer for the documentary can be played on all posters and city lights.
